Celtic Freeport welcomes progress on Pembroke Dock FLOW base

The Celtic Freeport has welcomed the decision by Pembrokeshire County Council to approve plans for storage facilities on land west of Criterion Way.

The next phase of development at Pembroke Dock by the Port of Milford Haven will see the site prepared to support the roll-out of floating offshore wind (FLOW).

As part of the Criterion Quay development, the project will clear and regrade disused land, with the proposed storage site providing direct access to deep-water for FLOW marshalling and operations.

Luciana Ciubotariu, CEO of Celtic Freeport, said: “We welcome this important step forward for Pembroke Dock. This project will bring critical land back into use and provide vital infrastructure to deliver floating offshore wind in the Celtic Sea. It represents further progress towards building a new industry in Wales that will create jobs, attract investment and support the UK’s journey to net zero.

The Criterion Quay development is located within the Milford Haven Tax Site. Once built, it will create a base for marshalling, maintenance and operations linked to the region’s growing offshore energy sector.
