ABP Port Talbot lands £64m investment

The Celtic Freeport welcomes confirmation of £64 million in UK Government funding for Associated British Ports’ Port Talbot offshore wind hub

The agreement supports the development of major floating offshore wind (FLOW) infrastructure, positioning South Wales at the forefront of the Celtic Sea opportunity.

This investment will accelerate vital infrastructure, strengthening supply chains and delivering long-term economic benefits across South Wales.

Dr Chris Martin OBE MStJ DL, Chair of the Celtic Freeport, commented: “This UK Government funding is a step forward in establishing Port Talbot as a world-class floating offshore wind centre.

“The £64 million investment in ABP’s offshore wind hub is a huge vote of confidence and firmly places us at the heart of Wales’ and the Celtic Sea ambitions.”
