Planning consent clears path for hydrogen project

The Celtic Freeport welcomed the news that Pembrokeshire County Council has given the green light to a 1.5km hydrogen gas pipeline linking the Impala Terminal at Milford Haven with the South Hook LNG Terminal.

The green hydrogen project – West Wales Hydrogen, a 14.2MW Celtic Freeport tax site initiative, developed by MorGen Energy Ltd – will support a previously approved scheme and marks another important step toward a more resilient, low-carbon energy system in the region.

This decision will support Pembrokeshire’s role as a growing hub for hydrogen and future fuels, aligning with Celtic Freeport’s ambition to drive innovation, decarbonisation and high-value jobs across South West Wales.
