Briton Ferry Wharf – Camplas

Camplas Logo

Overview

Camplas Holdings is bringing 4.1 hectares of the former Briton Ferry Dock back into industrial use. The site gives Camplas the capability to manufacture glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) vessels up to 8 metres in diameter, a step change from anything achievable at its Bridgend works and beyond the reach of most UK manufacturers. Camplas has manufactured GRP tanks in South Wales for almost 60 years and holds a Queen’s Award for Technological Achievement.

Land profile

  • 4.1 hectares
  • Strategic position between ABP Port Talbot and Swansea, with direct proximity to Briton Ferry dock’s quay
  • Secure site (high-grade fencing, CCTV, gate access)

Existing Energy Infrastructure

  • Manufacture of large-diameter GRP vessels up to 8m, opening contracts in water utilities, chemical, environmental and agricultural markets that Camplas currently cannot bid for
  • Quayside access for abnormal loads that cannot travel by road, unlocking export routes to European and global markets
  • A building specified from the outset to accommodate the manufacture of FLOW components
  • Regeneration of a long-dormant dockside asset, with skilled manufacturing jobs and local supply chain demand for pipework, steel fabrication, engineering subcontract and regional logistics
