Green Fuel Projects Advance

The Celtic Freeport welcomes the UK Government’s funding award through the Advanced Fuels Fund to LanzaTech UK’s DRAGON 1 & 2 initiative.

This funding will support the development of a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production facility at the Port Talbot Tax Site, which received planning consent in 2024.

The investment will accelerate delivery of the DRAGON 1 commercial plant, which will convert recycled carbon ethanol into SAF, and support early development of DRAGON 2 – a power‑to‑liquid facility that turns waste CO₂ and green hydrogen into ethanol for further SAF conversion.
