AR7 Offshore Wind Auction Results

The Celtic Freeport has welcomed today’s Allocation Round 7 (AR7) offshore wind auction results, which have awarded a total of 8.4GW of capacity, marking a major milestone for the UK’s offshore wind sector and the future of floating offshore wind in the Celtic Sea.

The auction includes success for the Erebus floating offshore wind (FLOW) project in the Celtic Sea, reinforcing confidence in the region’s potential to deliver FLOW developments.

Celtic Freeport spokesperson said: “Today’s AR7 announcement, and the success of Erebus, adds further momentum to the growth of floating offshore wind in the Celtic Sea, as we move towards commercial-scale developments rooted in Welsh ports in the years to come.”

Celtic Freeport will continue to work with industry partners, developers and governments to ensure Welsh ports are ready to support the delivery, assembly and long-term operations of FLOW projects – maximising economic benefits and skilled jobs for the region.
